We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team here at Reed, working in the Lancashire area! The role will involve supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting their independence. You will be expected to provide a high standard of care, addressing all aspects of the service user’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs. This position requires a proactive and reactive approach to ensure the service user’s comfort and safety.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide comprehensive support which meets the service user’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs.
  • Use initiative and work proactively to ensure the service users feel safe.
  • Work flexibly and autonomously, responding to the service user’s needs as they arise.
  • Commit to working 3-5 shifts per week, with shift patterns typically being 14 hours, including day shifts starting at 8am and finishing at 10pm, or waking night shifts from 10pm to 8am.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous UK experience working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Understanding of appropriate safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to confidently support everyone’s specific needs.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously with a degree of initiative.
