Our client, a leading company in the water infrastructure sector, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a contract basis in Preston. As a Senior QS, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing water infrastructure projects within the UU region. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to significant projects while working outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of quantity surveying for water infrastructure projects
- Preparing and analysing project costings, estimates, and budgets
- Conducting valuation processes for ongoing works
- Negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with contract documents
- Providing advice on contractual claims and disputes
- Overseeing procurement processes and managing subcontractors
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring timely delivery within budget
- Preparing and presenting detailed reports to stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the water infrastructure sector
- Strong knowledge of surveying principles and practices
- Proficiency in preparing detailed cost plans and estimates
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
- Understanding of contract law and claims management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work effectively on a contract basis, outside IR35
- Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in surveying or a related field
