KS2 / KS3 Tutor & Attendance Support - Preston, UK

Are you a dedicated and versatile individual with experience in tutoring Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 students, and a strong understanding of attendance support within a school setting? in Preston, is seeking a dynamic Tutor & Attendance Support to join our team!

The Role:

This is a dual role combining academic support as a KS2 / KS3 Tutor with responsibilities for improving student attendance in our Preston school. You will work with students who require additional support in core subjects at both Key Stages and contribute to strategies aimed at maximising student presence and engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on student outcomes in Preston.

Key Responsibilities (Tutoring):

  • Providing targeted tutoring sessions in Maths, English, and Science to KS2 and KS3 students, individually or in small groups (QTS essential).
  • Adapting teaching methods to suit the learning needs of both primary-transition and early secondary students.
  • Focusing on reinforcing key concepts and addressing learning gaps.
  • Creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities (Attendance):

  • Working with students, parents/carers, and school staff to address attendance concerns.
  • Implementing and monitoring the school's attendance policy.
  • Making initial contact with parents/carers regarding absences.
  • Identifying patterns of absence and implementing targeted interventions.
  • Working with external agencies to support improved attendance.
  • Maintaining accurate attendance records.

  • Experience working with KS2 and/or KS3 students in a tutoring or support capacity.
  • A strong understanding of the KS2 and early KS3 curriculum in core subjects (Maths, English, Science).
