About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Technician to join a thriving secondary school in Bradford for a part-time maternity cover, working 3 days per week from September 2025. You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of engaging and safe science lessons across KS3 to KS5.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in a science lab, ideally in a school or educational environment
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and COSHH guidelines
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing practical equipment and materials for science lessons
  • Setting up apparatus and ensuring functionality before lessons
  • Supporting teachers in the delivery of experiments
  • Maintaining a clean and safe lab environment
  • Assisting with inventory checks and stock control
  • Ordering equipment and consumables
  • Supporting students during practical activities where required
  • Liaising with teaching staff to anticipate lesson requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Keeping risk assessments up to date
  • Organising and maintaining prep rooms and storage areas
  • Supporting science clubs or enrichment activities as needed
