Do you want a fun and rewarding role that enables you to be part of a child’s early learning experience? Do you want to see children grow, flourish and develop in a job where no two days are the same? If so, you could become a Childcare Assistant at the First Steps Childcare Group.

As a Childcare Assistant working with young babies through to children ready to start school, you will share your love for learning and make a real difference in children’s development and learning journeys. Together with our dedicated team, you will be a part of ensuring the children are learning, socialising, exploring and having fun.

As a part of our amazing group of nurseries spread across West Sussex, First Steps Brinsbury is a truly enjoyable, welcoming and supportive place to work. The nursery benefits from being on Brinsbury College campus which is a fabulous rural campus, with a farm track, orchard, stream and more - so it’s not hard to see why the nursery can often boast a waiting list for childcare places!

As a Childcare Assistant at First Steps Childcare, you will get great staff benefits including competitive annual leave entitlement, plus wellbeing days and closure days over the Christmas period (which are not deducted from leave entitlement). First Steps Staff also get a competitive discount on First Steps Nursery fees and access to a range of other discount schemes, including discounts at shops and restaurants.

With a recognised Level 2 and/or Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Early Years, Care and Education, you will be enthusiastic, organised and flexible with previous experience of working in a childcare setting. Though not essential, a First Aid certificate would be desirable.

First Steps Childcare has nurseries in several locations and offers childcare options right from birth through to children ready to start school. The settings are open 51 weeks of the year, with core opening hours of 7.30am to 6.00pm, closed only for Bank Holidays and the period between Christmas and New Year.

Don’t drive? Don’t worry! Further details about travelling to Brinsbury can be found at Travelling to Brinsbury | Brinsbury College
