Mechanical Fitter / Assembler
Location: East Grinstead
Rate: 18-20 per hour (Umbrella)
Start: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support the build, installation, and maintenance of bespoke machinery and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on role working in a fast-paced engineering environment, suited to someone with a background in special-purpose machinery, conveyors, automated systems, or precision mechanical builds.

The Mechanical Fitter will ideally have the following experience:
* Strong mechanical fitting background within an engineering or manufacturing environment
* Experience building, assembling, and installing mechanical components and systems
* Ability to read and work from detailed engineering drawing
* Experience with special-purpose machinery, conveyors, automation, or production equipment (advantageous)
* A proactive, quality-focused approach with strong attention to detail
* Ability to work independently or as part of a wider engineering team
* Commitment to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement

The role will involve:
* Mechanical assembly and build of machinery and bespoke equipment
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure correct assembly
* Installation, testing, and commissioning of machinery
* Carrying out mechanical maintenance, adjustments, and modifications when required
* Fault-finding and resolving mechanical issues during build and test stages
* Working closely with engineers and production teams to ensure smooth project delivery
* Ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards
