Ackerman Pierce is currently supporting a leading local authority who are looking to recruit a Senior Social Work Practitioner in the AMHP service based in West Sussex. This will be on a permanent basis paying 45,441 - 48,474 P/Annum
Responsibilities include:
- Working with Vulnerable Adults with Mental Health
- Work towards your AMPH qualification.
- To triage referrals, assess risk and prioritise for response.
- To undertake statutory duties related to the care of adults and of their carers as
defined in the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983
- To keep up to date with developments, products and information relating to the
service and the rest of the council to ensure that appropriate and timely information is
given to customers.
- To ensure proportionate risk assessments for both the customer and the carer
associated with any support plan have been carried out.
- To undertake reviews of customers with long term needs as required and within
statutory timelines and carry out reassessments as required
- To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all partners (both
internal and external) to ensure that the team can deliver a co-ordinated,
timely and appropriate service to the customer
- To prepare and present reports for mental health reviews, tribunals in respect of
services users who are subject to detention under the MHA 1983
- Care management
- Report writing and assessment
- Carrying a caseload of service users
- Liaising with other professional bodies whilst working within the Mental Health Act
- Safeguarding Adults
Experience Essential:
- Registered qualified professional (Social Work, Nurse, OT, psychologist)
- Extensive knowledge of and be able to apply, a range of complex and specialist legislation i.e. the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, Children
- Act and other relevant case law
- Valid driving licence
- Extensive experience of working independently undertaking MHA assessments
Minimum Requirements:
- SWE Registration
- 1 year post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
- Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
