MMP Consultancy is seeking a Maintenance Surveyor on behalf of a Housing Association based in West Sussex to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused repairs and maintenance service. The rate of pay will be 40ph umbrella over a 36-hour working week and will be for a period of 3 months subject to extension.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out pre- and post-inspections, diagnosing and managing responsive repairs, void works and cyclical maintenance, ensuring all works meet our quality, compliance and value-for-money standards.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver a professional surveying service across responsive repairs, disrepair works, major and complex works, FRA, voids and aids and adaptations.
 - Carry out detailed inspections, surveys and technical reports, providing accurate advice and recommendations.
 - Manage insurance claims, including property inspections, decants, and liaison with loss adjusters and insurers.
 - Act as the technical lead during handovers of new developments, ensuring quality control through to the end of defects.
 - Oversee a local budget of approximately 2m, ensuring spend is accurate, compliant, and within targets.
 - Manage legal disrepair cases and Environmental Health Orders, providing detailed reports and ensuring effective resolution.
 - Coordinate void property works to minimise rent loss and ensure properties are re-let to Clarion standards.
 - Maintain strict compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation, promoting a culture of safety across all activities.
 - Build strong relationships with contractors, internal teams and customers to achieve top-tier customer satisfaction.
 - Keep professional knowledge up to date through ongoing development.
 
 Requirements:
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB).
 - Strong technical knowledge of building construction, standards, planning regulations and health & safety legislation.
 - Experience in budget management and contractor performance monitoring.
 - Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
 - Ability to produce clear, accurate technical reports and manage competing priorities.
 - Diploma in Surveying, Property and Maintenance (Level 3) or equivalent.
