We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and has experience in managing accounts payable processes. The position is initially on a 6-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become permanent.
Day-to-day of the role:- Processing and verifying invoices and coding payment documents.
- Preparing batches of invoices for data entry and entering invoices for payment.
- Processing backup reports after data entry.
- Managing weekly cheque runs and preparing vendor cheques for mailing.
- Handling vendor inquiries and reconciling vendor statements.
- Maintaining detailed records and files of accounting documents.
- Assisting with month-end closing processes and other accounting duties as needed.
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and general accounting procedures.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
