A well-regarded mainstream primary school in Purley is seeking a confident, calm, and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with behavioural needs and work as part of a nurturing, inclusive school environment. For the right candidate, there is a permanent opportunity available from September 2025.

?? Behaviour Mentor Role Overview:

  • Position: Behaviour Mentor

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Contract: Full Time, Long Term (with view to become permanent)

?? Behaviour Mentor Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for pupils presenting with behavioural challenges

  • Support classroom teachers in implementing consistent behaviour strategies

  • Build positive relationships with pupils to help them regulate and reflect on their behaviour

  • Liaise with pastoral and SEN teams to track progress and tailor interventions

  • Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

?? Ideal Behaviour Mentor should:

  • Have previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or SEN

  • Be confident with de-escalation and behaviour management techniques

  • Be strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be resilient, patient, and compassionate with a proactive approach

  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team

?? Pay: £85-£110 per day (depending on experience)?? Contract Progression: Long-term with a strong chance of becoming permanent in September 2025
