Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide a safe, nurturing classroom environment that supports students as learners.
  • Plan, resource, and deliver stimulating and enjoyable lessons for primary aged students.
  • Supervise Teaching Assistants within the classroom to enhance educational delivery.
  • Offer quality feedback to students to foster rapid and sustained progress.
  • Contribute to the development of literacy skills across the school.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning in collaboration with the Deputy Head of Teaching and Learning.
  • Engage in regular assessments to monitor progress, set targets, and implement necessary interventions.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents regarding progress, disciplinary actions, and other relevant information.
  • Ensure accurate student data management to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Support school management in promoting a positive educational culture and implementing change.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teaching Status.
  • Experience in teaching young people aged between 7-111.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Knowledge of the KS1 - KS2 National Curriculum.
  • Effective lesson planning and behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Highly skilled in delivering diverse teaching strategies.
  • Experience of organising and running extra-curricular activities (Desirable).
  • A knowledge and understanding of Steiner Waldorf curriculum and ethos (Desirable).
  • ICT competent (Desirable).
