Salary for the HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer / Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician: 45,000pa - 47,000pa basic pay Dependant on the shift chosen (days or splits) Overtime at 1.5 - uncapped earnings
Hours for the HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer / Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician: A choice of Monday to Friday Days (07:00am - 17:00pm) ORMon - Fri Split shifts (06:00am - 15:30pm WK1 and 12:30pm - 22:00pm WK2)
My client, due to growth, expansion and acquiring a large new site, are looking to employ experienced HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer / Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician for their busy, fully equipped modern workshop based near Rushenden / Queenborough Kent.
The role of HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer / Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician will include:
- Carrying out scheduled servicing inspection and preparation for testing as required for all fleet vehicles (HGV to LCV vehicles)
- Undertaking regular safety inspections of HGV's in accordance with the statutory requirements to maintain Goods Vehicle Operators Licence and repair defects as necessary.
- Working on a variety of mixed fleets of trucks and trailers.
- PMIs, Servicing, Diagnostics, MOT prep, General repairs and major unit rebuilds
- Inspecting vehicles to diagnose faults (mechanical/electrical/hydraulic) and repair as necessary.
- Completing all necessary records relating to the inspection, service and repair of all fleet items in accordance with statutory and administrative requirements.
- Liaising with colleagues, vehicle operatives and managers to prioritise workload, organise replacement parts and/or specialist support when required.
Required for this HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer / Mechanic / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician role:
- Level 3 City & Guilds, IMI or NVQ qualified technician or Time Served
- HGV licence is an advantage
- Diagnostic experience is an advantage
- Full UK Driving Licence
