Company Overview:

Our client, a well-established civil engineering contractor, is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. You will play a pivotal role in a brand-new multi-million pound Power Transmission Framework project for SSE.   As this role is at the Early Contractor Involvement stage, you will be joining the team from the outset and will see the project through to its successful completion. Your expertise will be key to the success of this venture, and they are eager to welcome an experienced professional to their team.

Role Details:

  • Duration: Based in the head office on the outskirts of Glasgow until Summer 2025. Following this, you will be required to work on various sites between Inverness and Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the commercial aspects of projects within the power sector, ensuring cost control and adherence to budgets.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide accurate cost forecasts, financial reports, and procurement strategies.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Administer contracts and manage subcontractor relationships effectively.
  • Provide expert advice on contractual matters, resolving disputes and mitigating risks.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction or power industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
