A well-established residential care provider in Radstock is seeking a Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of a warm and welcoming home for autistic adults and individuals with learning disabilities. Set in a lovely converted former family home, this service offers a calm, nurturing environment where residents are supported to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and compassionate care professional who is ready to step into a leadership role. The Deputy Manager will play a vital part in delivering high quality, person centred care, supporting staff, and promoting independence and community inclusion for all residents.
About the Service:
The home offers 24-hour residential care for autistic males and females, and people with learning disabilities. Every aspect of the support provided is tailored to the individual—focusing on building daily living skills, encouraging independence, and enabling access to community life. The aim is always to improve quality of life and ensure each person is supported to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Registered Manager in the effective running of the home
- Lead, mentor, and support the care team to ensure high standards of person-centred care
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and skill development among residents
- Assist in creating and reviewing care plans that reflect individual needs and goals
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies
- Contribute to staff development, performance management, and rota planning
- Build strong, supportive relationships with residents, families, and professionals
- Step into the Manager’s role as needed in their absence
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a senior care role within residential care, ideally supporting people with autism or learning disabilities
- A strong understanding of person-centred care principles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent); Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it
- Passionate about empowering people to live with choice, dignity, and independence
