Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Art faculty, including Visual Art, Drama, and Design Technology.
  • Inspire a team of teachers to deliver creative, ambitious lessons aligned with national curriculum standards.
  • Cultivate a rich arts culture through performances, exhibitions, and community projects.
  • Champion student creativity and ensure inclusive access to artistic opportunities for all learners.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and lead cross-school developments alongside SLT.
  • Monitor progress and performance, providing mentorship and development for arts staff.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified teacher with QTS, PGCE, or QTLS and a specialism in Art, Drama, or a related subject.
  • Proven leadership or middle management experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong track record of teaching across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) with evidence of impact.
  • A genuine passion for creative education and student empowerment.
  • Proven ability to organise effectively, communicate clearly, and collaborate well with others.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
  • Must provide two professional references from your most recent roles.
