SEN Teaching Assistant


Location: Rainham, London Borough of Havering
Start Date: ASAP / Flexible
Contract: Full-time / Term-time only
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Rainham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs and make a real difference to their learning and development.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with a range of SEN needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties) on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons

  • Provide emotional and behavioural support, helping pupils to regulate and engage positively

  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies

  • Promote a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment



Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN (school or alternative setting preferred)

  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to follow guidance from teachers and SENCOs

  • Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
