Due to ongoing growth and investment in our facilities, we are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Rainham. Skills required for the mechanical maintenance engineer:

  • Perform planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on a wide range of machinery and equipment within a heavy industrial environment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace components on large machines, including motors, conveyors, pumps, and presses
  • Work closely with the engineering team to maintain and improve production line performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including motors, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Experience with welding, fabrication, and other mechanical repair techniques
  • Previous experience in an industrial manufacturing or heavy machinery environment is desirable.
