The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to play a pivotal role in bridging design and manufacturing. Working at the cutting edge of mechanical and electrical engineering, you’ll help turn innovative designs into high-quality products that perform in the most demanding environments.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, and ensuring seamless New Product Introduction (NPI). You’ll have direct influence on efficiency, quality, and manufacturability, while supporting teams across engineering and production.

Role:

Provide technical and production engineering capability to ensure efficient manufacture of mechanical and electrical products. Optimise processes, support New Product Introduction (NPI), and ensure smooth handover from design to production.

Key Responsibilities:


• Support manufacturing of mechanical and electrical assemblies.

• Act as the link between engineering design and production.

• Create and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and quality controls.

• Support New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring manufacturability and cost efficiency.

• Identify and implement process improvements for quality, efficiency, and throughput.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.

• Design or specify tooling, fixtures, and test equipment.

• Provide training and technical support to production staff.

• Ensure safe working practices across operations.

• Overseeing the Quality Engineer.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Production Engineer in a mechanical/electrical manufacturing environment.
• Experience in both engineering department and hands-on production support.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, assembly, and integration of mechanical/electrical systems.
• Strong documentation and quality support skills.

Desirable:

• Product/system testing experience.
• Familiarity with defence sector standards.
• Design Engineering experience.
