About the Role


We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Rossendale. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, with the right candidate having the opportunity to go permanent.

You’ll be working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them to engage, learn, and thrive within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language, SEMH).
  • Adapt learning materials and resources to suit individual needs.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and outside agencies.
  • Support the development of pupils’ social and independence skills.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (school or childcare setting).
  • A caring, patient and proactive approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
