McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a leading Security business with revenues of £200m+ and operations across the UK & Europe. With multiple subsidiaries within the Group and reporting to the Group Finance Manager, this is a newly created Financial Accountant position to support the GFM in group financial reporting and both half-year & annual reporting. It requires extensive interaction with the subsidiary businesses to ensure good financial controls, practices and reporting and is also responsible for deputising for the Group Finance Manager. As a key member of the Group Headquarters team, key duties include:
• Assisting in the preparation of annual and half yearly financial reports
• Coordinating and directing preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and reporting variances in close collaboration with the Group Finance Manager
• Providing financial support to subsidiaries as required, including regular site visits
• Supporting the Group Finance Manager to ensure good financial controls and practices, reporting and balance sheet management in the subsidiary businesses
• Presenting information for presentation to the Board including the budget, monthly reporting and forecasts
• Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements for the Group
• Assisting with UK corporation tax reporting
• Ensuring compliance with group finance policies
• Providing Mergers & Acquisition support when required
• Managing relationships with partners/vendors including External Auditors & Advisors
To be considered for the Financial Accountant position you should be a fully Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant, ideally with a relevant degree and at least 2yrs PQE. With a strong understanding of financial controls, developing financial control systems & strong group consolidation skills, you should also have an in-depth knowledge of budgeting/forecasting and an understanding of FX transactions and UK corporate tax. You should have a practical understanding of UK accounting principles and techniques, financial best practice and be a strong internal relationship builder. An interest in the security sector and/or government contracts would be highly desirable (not essential), and you will be required to pass UK security clearance in order to be considered for the role. There is flexible working available, and you will be required to travel across the UK on a monthly basis - so you do need to be a car driver for this position.
On offer is a base salary up to £60/65,000 + up to 20% bonus, 25 days holiday, company pension & healthcare schemes.
