Your new companyMy client is a leading global brand within the telecommunications and entertainment sector, delivering high-quality products to customers. A new role has become available within their team for you to develop your career in tax in an in-house position. You will be involved with compliance and project work for the UK and European Group. Your new roleYou will

  • Support the effective management of UK corporation tax and VAT for the group and European region.
  • Ensure that UK tax compliance across the group meets internal and external requirements.
  • Co-ordinate the provision of UK tax shared services to UK businesses of the group, including annual corporation tax compliance, VAT and supporting the UK tax aspects of business, organisational and systems change.
  • Develop and communicate group policies that relate to the UK tax group
  • Provide capacity to the broader European Tax Team, supporting with specific requests from time to time, including publishing updates of tax laws on intranet and supporting with European VAT compliance.
  • Support the annual SAO process from notification to reporting. Preparation of supporting documents for all UK companies relating to SAO obligations
  • Preparation of UK Group relief, GDA allocation, AIA allocation and CIR return.
  • Proactively liaise with all UK businesses to request necessary information and prepare returns for review.
  • Support in updating the published UK Group Tax Policy each year.
  • Support in communicating changes in UK tax law and HMRC practice to tax and business stakeholders.
  • Prepare year-end tax accounting workings and annual tax WING sheets, and support year-end tax review by external auditors.
  • Provide UK tax support on projects; perform tax analysis and support tax compliance in connection with business, organisational and systems change.
  • Assist with ad-hoc tax queries from the business by researching solutions.

What you'll need to succeedYou will need 3 years of UK tax experience, be proficient with Microsoft Office and have knowledge of SAP. You will be a self-starter - able to work both alone and as part of a team, have excellent planning and time management skills, a willingness to learn and develop your role.
