You will support the day to day functions of the accounts department from the sales and purchase ledgers to the daily cash postings and bank reconciliations.You will also assist the Accountant and Management team in other duties where required

Client Details

Experience and a good working knowledge of all accounting routines, including stock checks and month-end reconciliations would be advantageous.From a strong administration background.

Knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office would be advantageous.

Enthusiastic, well organised, diligent, and able to work to strict deadlines whilst paying attention to detail and working both as an individual and as part of a small team.

Description

  • Maintain and update sales ledger, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Process and reconcile purchase ledger invoices, liaising with suppliers as needed.
  • Perform daily cash and bank postings across all relevant accounts.
  • Assist with regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial procedures, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments (credit control).
  • Handle petty cash transactions and ensure accurate reconciliation.
  • Assist in preparing management accounts and financial reports for internal use.
  • Respond to internal and external financial queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure correct financial recording of transactions.
  • Help maintain compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and reports as required.
  • Assist with processing staff expenses and mileage claims.
  • Participate in stock take processes and reconcile variances.
  • Support the Accountant and management team with various tasks and special projects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and procedures.

Profile

  • Previous experience and sound knowledge of general accounting routines, including:
    • Stock checks
    • Month-end reconciliations
  • Candidates from strong administrative backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with computer systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, is desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
