Design Engineer (HVAC)

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an Design Engineer (HVAC) interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located in Reading

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed HVAC system designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Review project requirements, regulatory standards, and performance criteria to inform designs.
• Perform load calculations, ductwork and pipe sizing, and airflow modelling.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure system integration.
• Support project delivery through design reviews, site inspections, and design modifications as required.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design verification packages.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (HVAC focus) or equivalent.
• Proven experience designing HVAC systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Carrier HAP, IES) and standards (CIBSE, BS, ASHRAE).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
