Job Description

Were looking for an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineerto join a well-established and growing concrete solutions company operating across the South of England!

Ideal base locations would be Reading, Oxford, Swindon, Slough, Crawley although this is flexible.

In this role, youll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction equipment such as concrete mixers, pumps, and cement silos. Youll play a key role in keeping customers operations running smoothly, providing both preventative and reactive maintenance at sites across the South.

We're seeking a mechanically minded engineer with solid experience in hydraulics and ideally a background in construction plant or heavy machinery. MIG welding experience is a strong plus.

Please note: Occasional overnight stays are required (approx. 23 times per month) all fully covered by the company.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent position with long-term career prospects!

What youll be Doing

  • Perform on-site service, maintenance, and repair of construction machinery
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools
  • Carry out regular inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
  • Calibrate equipment for optimal performance
  • Complete job records and produce detailed service reports
  • Advise customers with technical support when needed
  • Work safely and in compliance with all health & safety standards
  • Be flexible with travel and occasional overnight stays

Monday-Friday, Day Shifts

Pay

£37,000 - £42,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Skills/Experience Required

  • Experience working with plant, construction, or heavy machinery
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and 12/24V electrical systems (110V a bonus)
  • Confident in diagnosing and repairing a range of construction equipment
  • MIG welding/fabrication skills
  • Full UK driving licence (required)
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent)
  • Strong fault-finding abilities and capable of working independently
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
