We are working with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy who are seeking an Associate Director to help shape and grow its Structural and Civil Engineering teams within its well-established Reading office.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a key leadership role-combining team development, client engagement, and strategic growth. The successful candidate will play a central part in driving business development, managing high-performing teams, and contributing to the collaborative culture the firm is known for.
Working alongside a talented group of engineers and specialists, the Associate Partner will take responsibility for nurturing a delivery-focused team that reflects the organisation's values of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading business development efforts and maintaining strong client relationships to secure both new and repeat business
- Taking financial responsibility for the performance and profitability of the Structural and Civils teams
- Recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineering talent, including the creation of tailored training and progression plans
- Supporting strategic hires and contributing to broader cross-office resourcing and collaboration
- Representing the business at industry events and promoting its presence in the market
- Ensuring the team remains informed and compliant with evolving industry legislation and standards
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a senior or leadership role within structural or civil engineering
- A relevant degree in civil or structural engineering (or closely related discipline)
- Strong business development acumen and existing professional network
- Demonstrable leadership skills, particularly in managing and developing teams
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Proficiency with key IT and engineering software packages
