My client is a well-established family business, specialising in the storage and transportation of chilled, frozen, and ambient products, as well as pharma and medical supplies and equipment for concerts and exhibitions. Expanding operations with a new 22,000sqm warehouse in Theale, opening January 2026.

Role Overview:

Seeking a dynamic and experienced New Business Development Manager to drive new business opportunities and fill warehouse capacity. The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a strong sales background, preferably within the food or logistics industry.

This role requires analytical thinking, strategic planning and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify New Business Opportunities: Research market trends, assess competition and explore expansion opportunities.
  • Market Research & Strategy Development: Analyse market trends and industry insights to identify growth opportunities.
  • Sales & Lead Generation: Generate leads through networking, cold calls and referrals.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders.
  • Proposal & Presentation Development: Prepare business proposals, presentations and pitches.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with marketing, sales and product development teams.
  • Warehouse Utilisation: Ensure the new facility in Theale is filled at an appropriate pace, aiming for 60% capacity by January 2026.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, consultative sales or account management.
  • Experience within the logistics, transport, or supply chain industry is highly valued.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles, such as pre-sales or applications engineering, is beneficial.

Additional Details:

  • Working Hours: Typically, 8am to 6pm, with office hours from 7am to 7pm. Open to hybrid work once trained, but primarily an on-the-road role.
