Building Surveyor - Repairs & Maintenance
Location: Covering West Region - North London, Brent, Slough, Reading & surrounding areas
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours/week)
Salary: 48,000-55,000 + 1,300 Essential Car User Allowance
Office Base: Stratford, London
Persona: Agile Worker (20-40% office/site-based)

Our client is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their Repairs and Maintenance team in the West region. You'll carry out inspections of occupied and void properties, specify works (including damp and mould), manage contractors, handle complaints, and support disrepair cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct property inspections and produce reports/specifications using NHF SORs

  • Manage budgets, variations, and ensure value for money

  • Oversee insurance-related works (e.g. fire, flood, theft)

  • Ensure health & safety compliance

  • Liaise with residents, contractors, and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent (or extensive experience in lieu)

  • Strong knowledge of building methods, housing/contract law, and social housing stock

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Proficient in managing repairs, complex issues, and complaint resolution
