Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join their busy and well-established production team. This role requires a skilled professional who can set, operate, and monitor CNC machinery to produce high-quality components to tight tolerances.
Location: Reading
Salary: £27,000 - £31,000
Hours: 14:00 - 22:00
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components
- Read and interpret technical drawings and job specifications
- Select, fit, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and machine offsets
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
- Monitor output, troubleshoot issues, and ensure consistent quality
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient working area
Requirements:
- Proven CNC setting and operating experience
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Skilled with verniers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
- Quality-focused with a methodical approach
- Able to work independently and within a team
