Our client, a renowned civil engineering and infrastructure specialist, is currently seeking a Design Coordinator to join their Southern Region team, located in either St Albans or Reading.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate design in line with budget and programme, ensuring compliance with project requirements, standards and specifications.
- Support the Design Manager in adhering to CDM regulations and discharging Principal Designer duties.
- Promote safety, buildability, environmental best practices, and sustainability through design.
- Produce design plans and briefs.
- Coordinate external design consultants and internal technical, operational, maintenance, and strategic stakeholders.
- Ensure site investigations and surveys meet project requirements and that technical queries are addressed.
- Contribute to construction planning activities and stakeholder management.
- Participate in assurance, governance and review processes, including producing relevant deliverables.
- Manage design changes, risks and opportunities, ensuring quality in design.
- Coordinate and support the preparation of handover documentation.
Job Requirements:
- Considerable experience in water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Understanding of Temporary Works and the responsibilities associated with designer/coordinator/contractor roles.
- Degree/HNC qualified, or equivalent, in Civil Engineering (or working towards through an apprenticeship or similar).
- Awareness of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills for effective liaison with clients and staff.
- Strong time management and project design management skills.
