Role Overview
We are currently seeking a highly organised and security-cleared Document Controller / Administrator to join our team at Aldermaston. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing, maintaining, and distributing project documentation in accordance with AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) requirements and BAM Nuttall's quality procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly secure, structured, and process-driven environment on a long-term infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities
- Control and manage documents using the AWE Meridian and DCC (Document Control Centre) systems.
- Upload, track, and manage transmittals and document revisions in accordance with AWE protocols.
- Distribute controlled documents to project teams and ensure timely retrieval of updated versions.
- Maintain SharePoint and/or ProjectWise platforms to support internal collaboration (if experienced).
- Ensure quality checks and compliance are carried out on all documentation prior to submission.
- Support the wider administration team with tasks such as report preparation, meeting coordination, and filing.
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, and quality teams to ensure document alignment and timely updates.
- Maintain confidentiality and data integrity when handling secure and sensitive information.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold valid SC Clearance (Security Check) or be willing and eligible to undergo clearance.
- Experience with AWE systems, including AWE DCC and Meridian document control tools.
- Ideally experienced in ProjectWise and/or SharePoint document management systems.
- Demonstrable background in document control or administrative roles within construction, engineering, or defence sectors.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfortable working with digital file structures.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise at all levels.
- A methodical, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to confidentiality and compliance.

- Due to the nature of the site, the successful applicant must already have or be able to obtain SC clearance.
- This is a temporary ongoing contract with potential for long-term engagement for the right candidate.
