Installation Electrician
Location: Based at Aldermaston and Burghfield
Salary: £20 - £22 per hour
The Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable New Installation Electrician to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations on new-build and refurbishment projects, ensuring all work meets industry standards and health & safety regulations.
This is a hands-on role suitable for a qualified electrician with experience in installing electrical systems from initial fix to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new electrical systems in commercial, or industrial settings
- Carry out installation of containment, wiring, and final connections
- Read and interpret electrical plans, schematics, and technical drawings
- Ensure compliance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and other applicable standards
- Work independently or as part of a team on projects to agreed deadlines
- Conduct basic testing of installations prior to commissioning
- Liaise with site managers, other trades, and clients to coordinate installation work
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Complete necessary documentation and installation certifications
- Report any defects or issues to the supervisor or project manager
Skills and Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- ECS Gold Card (preferred)
- Valid UK driving licence (if role involves travel to multiple sites)
- Proven experience in new electrical installations
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work under pressure
- AM2 Certification
Desirable:
- 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing qualification
