We're working with a fast-growing and pioneering company in the aerospace sector developing next-generation space systems. They are currently expanding their engineering team and looking for experienced professionals with strong backgrounds in power electronics, PCB design, or electric propulsion systems.
This is a rare opportunity to contribute to advanced space technologies - from designing custom electronics for spacecraft to developing propulsion systems that will power the next wave of satellite missions.
THESE ROLES ARE COMPLETELY ONSITE IN READING AND WILL PAY UP TO 70K PER ANNUM. SPONSORSHIP IS AVAILABLE AND SO IS RELOCATION SUPPORT. PLEASE NOTE EXTENDED HOURS WILL BE REQUIRED DUE THE CLIENT BEING IN A CRITICAL GROWTH.
WE ARE ONLY LOOKING TO SPEAK TO CANDIDATES WITH PRIOR SPACE SECTOR EXPERIENCE.
Key Areas of Opportunity (Candidates with experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply):
1. Power Electronics Design
Design and test DC-DC converters, power conditioners, and power distribution systems.
Analyze and simulate converter behavior (control loops, EMI/EMC, thermal, etc.).
Experience with topologies such as Buck, Boost, Flyback, etc.
Tools: LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, etc.
2. PCB Design & Hardware Development
End-to-end ownership of PCB design: schematic capture, multilayer layout, and manufacturing.
Work with high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal circuits.
Strong grasp of SI/PI, impedance control, stack-up design, and DFM/DFX practices.
Proficiency in modern CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer).
3. Electric Propulsion Systems
Hands-on experience with plasma propulsion (e.g., Hall Effect Thrusters, RF/Ion propulsion).
Operation and testing in vacuum environments using HV power supplies, RF generators, and thrust balance setups.
Deep understanding of plasma physics, ionization, and diagnostics.
Experience with vacuum pumps, mass flow controllers, and fluidic systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or related field; advanced degrees (MSc/PhD) are a plus.
1-10+ years of experience depending on area.
Passionate about working in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
