Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of sociological concepts and theories. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire students to explore and understand the complexities of society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Sociology lessons for students at various levels.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that covers key sociological topics, including social structures, cultural norms, and social change.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Organize and oversee extracurricular activities related to Sociology, such as debates, discussions, and field trips.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Sociology with other subjects and school-wide initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and achievements.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of Sociology and incorporate new research and methodologies into your teaching.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Previous experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sociological theories, concepts, and research methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to engage with sociological topics.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in Sociology education.
