Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Sociology Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of sociological concepts and theories. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that inspire students to explore and understand the complexities of society.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality Sociology lessons for students at various levels.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and active participation.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that covers key sociological topics, including social structures, cultural norms, and social change.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Organize and oversee extracurricular activities related to Sociology, such as debates, discussions, and field trips.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Sociology with other subjects and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and achievements.
- Stay current with developments in the field of Sociology and incorporate new research and methodologies into your teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Previous experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sociological theories, concepts, and research methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to engage with sociological topics.
