Interim Senior HR Advisor
Based in Berkshire, hybrid working
Length: 4 months (with potential to extend)

We are working in partnership with a Berkshire-based local authority to recruit an experienced Senior HR Adviser to support their Housing Repairs and wider operational teams during a key period of transformation and change. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident HR professional to apply their expertise in employee relations, employment law, and organisational development within a fast-paced, unionised, public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Interim Senior HR Advisor:
- Provide high-quality, professional HR advice and support to operational managers across a range of employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary cases, disputes, restructures, and redundancy
- Act as an adviser during investigations and hearings, offering clear guidance on employment law and internal policy
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures in alignment with strategic priorities
- Advise and support on TUPE processes, ill health management and occupational health referrals
- Collaborate with trade union representatives and attend local joint consultative meetings
- Assist in preparing cases for Employment Tribunal, as required
- Support performance management and job evaluation processes across operational services
- Work closely with managers to promote staff wellbeing and engagement initiatives
Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Senior HR Advisor:
- Substantial HR advisory experience in a local authority, housing association, or similarpublic sectorsetting
- Experience working with blue collar workforces and engaging with trade unions in a unionised environment
- CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience), with the ability to hit the ground running in a hybrid working environment
