ITAM Project Manager:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Project Manager to join a growing business as the company’s first dedicated Project Manager. This pivotal role presents a unique opportunity to not only oversee key projects but also lay the groundwork for a formal Project Management Office aimed at enhancing their project delivery and strategic execution.

As the Project Manager within the team, you will be tasked with managing multiple projects within the ITAM domain with responsibilities extending to spearheading the development of project management processes and frameworks from inception. By standardizing project methodologies, you will play a crucial role in ensuring successful project delivery aligned with the business objectives.

This position demands a hands-on, proactive approach and promises a significant impact on the company's trajectory and operational efficiency. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders will be integral to guaranteeing timely, scope-compliant, and budget-friendly project outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

- Leading the planning, execution, and delivery of crucial projects in alignment with business objectives.

- Defining project goals, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

- Managing project timelines, risks, and resource allocation for on-time and within-budget project completion.

- Tracking project performance using appropriate tools to analyse and report progress.

- Identifying and addressing project risks with effective mitigation strategies.

- Driving team improvement through post-project reviews and lessons learned.

- Cultivating and nurturing key client relationships within the team.

- Staying informed about industry best practices in project management and suggesting process enhancements.

PMO Development:

- Tailor project management processes, tools, and methodologies to meet team needs.

- Establish transparent project governance frameworks for accountability.

- Develop documentation templates, reporting standards, and project dashboards to track key metrics.

- Create a roadmap for scaling the PMO, emphasizing continuous improvement in project management practices.

Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in a small/medium-sized business or witin a start-up environment
  • Experience working in the IT sector
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven successes managing multiple projects
  • Experience of using a variety of project management tools
  • Proactive problem solving skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in building a Project Management Office from a standing start
  • An understanding of ITAM
