HGV Technician / Truck Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician – Reading – 4 on 4 off – Up to £48,672 + Overtime

Salary: Up to £48,672  plus overtime at 1.5x

The Role
We are looking for an experienced HGV Technician, Truck Technician, or Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy Reading workshop. You will carry out inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles to keep them safe, compliant, and on the road. Key Responsibilities
Perform major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles
Carry out regular inspections and preventative maintenance
Diagnose faults and assist with repair planning
Maintain accurate workshop records and complete relevant documentation
Provide emergency roadside repair support when required
Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment

Skills and Qualifications

Essential
Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI)
Experience performing diagnostic and service repairs on HGVs
Ability to identify worn or faulty components in line with DVSA standards
Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes

Desirable
Experience with heavy goods vehicle diagnostics
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
