Quantum Scholars are working with a high-achieving and well-respected secondary school in Reading, who are seeking a dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join their school from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and strong Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

About the Role: You will be teaching Design Technology to students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire creativity and technical skill. The ideal candidate must be currently teaching in the UK, have significant UK teaching experience or be UK trained and be able to teach DT to secondary school level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.

  • Teach across a range of DT disciplines, including resistant materials, product design, and possibly graphics or textiles, depending on your strengths.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear feedback to help them achieve their potential.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular clubs or activities related to Design Technology.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to continually improve departmental standards and student outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).

  • A strong understanding of the DT curriculum and practical classroom management skills.

  • A valid right to work in the UK - sponsorship is not available for this role.

  • A genuine passion for teaching and inspiring young minds.
