  • Week 1: 05:00 – 14:00
  • Week 2: 07:30 – 16:30

Overview:An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join a fast-paced, progressive manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a hands-on maintenance background who is ready to take a step into leadership and develop further into a future Engineering Manager. This position supports the Head of Engineering and plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and safety of plant machinery, utilities, and maintenance operations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support the daily operations of the Engineering Department alongside the Head of Engineering.
  • Manage and improve Health & Safety practices within the department and across the site.
  • Organise and implement effective planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
  • Monitor plant and machinery, proactively resolving issues to minimise downtime.
  • Supervise Shift Engineers and Engineering Assistants to ensure PPM and cleaning schedules are met.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory and coordinate ordering/storage in line with operational needs.
  • Collaborate with Production teams to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance works.
  • Participate in and, when needed, lead daily and monthly H&S meetings.
  • Provide out-of-hours support through a call-out rota.
  • Support staff training and development within the engineering team.
  • Assist with site audits and implement health, safety, and environmental improvements.
  • Ensure engineering operations comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:We are looking for a strong team player with a genuine interest in career progression and leadership. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in a busy maintenance role.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ambition to progress into an Engineering Manager position.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A passion for continual improvement, training, and team development.
  • High standards of professionalism, safety awareness, and integrity.
