We are seeking to recruit a 10PA post for a Consultant Cellular Pathologist with Specialist Interest in Dermatopathology.

The appointee will be required to be medically qualified and to have broad experience in diagnostic histopathology with at least 12 months experience in independently reporting dermatopathology cases. It is expected that the appointee will hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or show evidence of equivalent training and experience. Having a Dermatopathology Diploma or International Board Certification in Dermatopathology is certainly desirable, but a candidate who plans to sit either of these examinations in the next 2 yrs (from the commence date of this post) would also be considered.

The appointee will join the existing team to provide specialist care to this growing population of patients and raise departmental profiles through teaching and education.

The successful candidate will be expected to primarily report dermatopathology specimens (including skin specimens generated from RBFT and local GPs, as well as direct immunofluorescence samples). The proportion of other specialties covered (mainly diagnostic core biopsies) will depend on the Departmental service needs. The post holder is expected to attend/participate in the skin MDT meeting.
