Our client is looking for a highly diligent and detail-oriented Project Manager to lead a cabling audit project within a secure government environment.

The role involves assessing cabling infrastructure across multiple buildings, tracing cable routes, verifying circuit usage, and accessing manholes and service areas as required. The Project Manager will also oversee and manage a team of Project Engineers, ensuring the audit is conducted efficiently, safely, and in line with project time lines.

This is a hands-on project management role, requiring a strong understanding of cabling systems, infrastructure mapping, and compliance with security protocols.

Duties

? Lead and manage a structured audit of cabling within multiple buildings.

? Identify cable routes and determine whether circuits are active or redundant.

? Conduct physical inspections, including entry into manholes and confined spaces.

? Oversee and coordinate the work of Project Engineers, ensuring efficient task execution.

? Ability to manage team of technical staff in a highly regulated environment.

? Ensure adherence to security protocols and government compliance standards.

? Act as the primary point of contact between the project team and key stakeholders.

? Manage project deliverables and timelines to ensure completion within the contract period.

? Document findings accurately and produce detailed reports for stakeholders.

? Creation of digital documentation and record collation.

? Use of common data environment and shared digital and asset management tools.

? Strict control and ensuring adherence to processes which may include, permit management, access control, authority to work etc.

? Validation and verification of existing records.

The ideal candidate will

? MUST HOLD CURRENT SC CLEARANCE

? Proven experience in project management within cabling, telecoms, or IT infrastructure.

? Strong knowledge of cabling systems, circuit tracing, and infrastructure audits.

? Hands-on experience with site surveys, technical inspections, and reporting.

? Experience managing and coordinating teams of engineers in a technical environment.

? Comfortable working in technical environments, including confined spaces.

? Excellent problem-solving skills, communication, and attention to detail.

? Previous experience working within government or secure environments is desirable.

? Certification in network-specific disciplines, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate or Network+ or MCITP Contract Detail would be beneficial
