ER & Policy Manager

Reading | Hybrid (3 days/week)

6-month contract

We're hiring an experienced ER & Policy Manager to lead individual and collective ER cases (grievance, disciplinary, sickness, insourcing), while redefining HR policies and building manager capability. This role blends hands-on casework with strategic policy development and change leadership.

Key Responsibilities of the ER & Policy Manager include:

  • Manage ER cases and coach managers through resolution
  • Lead collective ER processes including insourcing and structural change
  • Redesign HR policies and contracts to reflect company behaviours and tone
  • Ensure policies are clear, compliant, and aligned with best practice
  • Communicate and embed policy changes, upskilling managers
  • Enhance HR intranet with accessible tools and guidance
  • Deliver training and e-learning for line managers
  • Recommend models for ongoing HR/ER support
  • Support wider People Strategy projects

The successful ER & Policy Manager will have:

  • Strong UK employment law and ER expertise
