Quality Inspector required to join a well-established Engineering company that specialises in Aerospace fine limit sheet metal work, based in the Reading area. Due to their ongoing succession, they are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to add to the Production team.
Quality Inspector Job Overview
- To produce First Article Inspection Reports and to be able to use a CMM in support of this.
- To provide roaming and final inspection for all products
- To inspect incoming goods from sub-contract suppliers
- Liaise with customers/suppliers on all quality matters, queries and non-conformances
- To raise Certificates of Conformity and delivery documentation.
- To aid in the control of external and internal equipment calibrations.
- To raise sub-contract Purchase Orders on approved suppliers
- To check First Off production parts
- Liaise with all levels of staff (management to shop floor) on all aspects of quality and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support the management in developing a "continuous improvement" culture.
- To aid the maintenance of current approvals for AS9100 &Nadcap.
- Other adhoc duties as agreed from time to time by the Chief Inspector/Quality Manager.
Quality Inspector Job Requirements
- Educated to HNC level or equivalent (engineering discipline desirable)
- Detailed knowledge of AS90100 Quality Standard
- 2 years min Experience in a previous or similar Quality role
- Experience of Management Systems auditing (Internal & External)
- Good Planning and Organising skills demonstrating attention to detail
- Ability to communicate with peers, management, customers & vendors
- Hold a valid Full UK Driving License
- Experience / Working Knowledge of Office 365 & ERP Systems
- Experience working within the Aerospace sector
- Programming & operating a CMM is essential
Quality Inspector Salary & Benefits
- Permanent - Full time
- Salary - 35,000 - 40,000 (DOE)
- Days - Mon - Thurs 37 hours
- 33 days holiday (including BH)
