Our client, is seeking a Finance Business Partner on a contract basis. This role, situated in the Reading area, 1-3 days onsite dependining on needs of the business on a 12 month contract.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct variance analysis and monitor costs across various financial metrics and expense categories.

  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships, engaging effectively with customer budget holders and wider internal stakeholders.

  • Prepare and present financial reports and insights at relevant budget holder meetings.

  • Deliver clear, evidence-based financial data to support business decisions and operational needs.

  • Contribute cost information to support the financial components of business cases.

  • Drive service quality improvements by identifying opportunities through regular engagement with local teams.

  • Support the creation and refinement of a Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) and manage related change initiatives.

  • Assist in developing cost studies by utilizing historical data and providing input for benchmarking and analysis.



Job Requirements:

  • Experience in Finance Business partnering.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Analytical experience with a solid understanding of financial principles.


Desirable Skills:

  • Financial skills are advantageous, though technical skills can be taught.
  • A professional qualification in finance is not essential, but beneficial.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Complying with appropriate procedures, processes, and systems to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Supporting the preparation, monitoring, and control of forecasts and budgets, including change control.
  • Interrogating systems and measuring financial performance of actual expenditure.
  • Providing input to cost reports, including trend analysis and early warnings.
  • Maintaining high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
