An opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager – Digital to join a dynamic procurement team at the forefront of a major digital transformation journey. This role is central to sourcing critical IT services including cyber, telecoms, and networks. Working alongside a team of specialists, you’ll play a key role in shaping digital procurement strategy while delivering value and driving innovation across the business. With strong investment into digital change and quick promotion opportunities, this is the ideal role for someone ambitious and commercially sharp.

Based in Reading, this hybrid role requires 2–3 days per week in the office and offers a salary of up to £60,000. The package includes up to 10% bonus, a contributory pension of up to 12%, 26 days’ holiday (rising to 30 with service), annual medical assessments, and access to a comprehensive wellbeing and benefits platform.

As Category Manager you'll be...

  • Support end-to-end sourcing across digital categories including cyber, telecoms, IT and networks.

  • Lead and influence digital procurement strategy aligned with major transformation objectives.

  • Manage supplier performance through full contract lifecycle, focusing on added value and continuous improvement.

  • Engage and challenge stakeholders at all levels, building trust and driving outcomes.

  • Evaluate and lead tenders, managing complex negotiations with suppliers of up to £100m value.

  • Contribute to digital cost-saving initiatives while mitigating risk and identifying growth opportunities.

What experience we're looking for

  • Experience in sourcing IT services, especially cyber, telecoms and networks.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence and challenge.

  • Resilience and adaptability to operate effectively in a demanding, change-heavy environment.

  • Ability to work strategically while delivering on operational procurement activities.

  • Experience in utilities or public sector environments is desirable.

  • Bright, ambitious individuals with a willingness to learn will also be considered.
