Managing Quantity Surveyor
We have an excellent opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join one of the largest privately owned main contractors in the UK. The business operates out of several regional offices across the UK, with their Southern region being based in Reading. They undertake notable schemes across sectors including education, commercial, mixed-use residential, student accommodation and life sciences. With a busy forward order book and an exciting scheme in the pipeline, they're looking to expand the commercial team with an additional Managing Quantity Surveyor.
About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor:
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing an upcoming scheme from pre-construction through to completion. Projects vary in value but may be up to 100mil. You will be responsible for managing the commercial aspect of the scheme alongside other more junior Surveyors.
Key Responsibilities as Managing Quantity Surveyor:
- Work alongside the pre-construction team through 2-stage tenders
- Oversee the project's procurement / management of sub-contractor packages
- Deal with final accounts / any dispute resolution that may arise
- Mentor junior members of the Surveying team and be involved in their professional development
Key Requirements for this Managing Quantity Surveyor role:
- Hold a BSc Quantity Surveying or HNC
- Have experience managing projects of sieable value from pre-construction through to final account
- Have experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final account
- Be proficient in administering various forms of contract including JCT and NEC
- Have the full right to work in the UK and be happy to commute to Reading / surrounding sites
