We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established team in Newbury. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the commercial management of social housing maintenance contracts, with flexibility to suit either full-time or part-time working arrangements.
The Role
You will be responsible for the commercial control and financial performance of social housing maintenance and refurbishment projects, working closely with operational teams to ensure contracts are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of social housing maintenance contracts
- Preparation and agreement of valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Cost control, forecasting, and budget management
- Working with operational teams to drive value and performance
- Subcontractor procurement, management, and payment
- Ensuring compliance with contractual and financial procedures
- Building strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
About You
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within housing maintenance sector
- Strong understanding of planned, reactive, and cyclical maintenance works
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively
- Able to manage workload independently while supporting wider team objectives
