About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial performance of two large-scale pipe-laying schemes, forming part of a wider programme of essential water infrastructure upgrades. The role involves NEC contract administration, negotiating terms and conditions with subcontractors, and supporting junior commercial staff as a mentor and team leader.
Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Lead commercial delivery of two major pipe-laying projects
- Administer and manage NEC contracts in line with project and client requirements
- Negotiate subcontractor terms and ensure compliant procurement processes
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, valuations, and change management
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and commercial assistants
Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the utilities or infrastructure sectors
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and experience in their practical application
- Skilled in negotiating terms and managing subcontractor performance
- Ability to lead and develop junior team members
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
