Our client, a well established family run business within the joinery design space, is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their small, friendly team based at their offices in Reading. They have a strong reputation for being very professional and easy to work with. Their Finance Director is looking for someone who loves numbers to come and assist him from a Finance Admin capacity, with a view to progressing into Financial Controller
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the timely input of project data (particularly Timesheet records)
- Support with timely (eventually live) internal project reporting – costs vs budget and forecasting
- Oversee accounts payable ledger (including subcontractors) and draft timely payment runs
- Order processing and client invoicing/debt chasing
- Support with scaling the process’s and systems in the department to support business growth
- Provide reporting to aid wider-business forecasting (GBS)
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Work closely with senior management to support strategic planning and growth
- Positive contributor to the team effort

- IT proficient
- Proven track record of successfully managing similar technical processes.
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Passion for numbers
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Adept with Excel and experience with accounting software
- Good communication skills to work across departments and with external partners
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks independently
- 07:30-16:30 Monday- Friday with 30mins for lunch (Can be Flexible on hours)
- £30,000- £40,000 basic salary plus Profit Share Scheme
- 22 paid days leave, increasing by 1 day for every 2 year’s service to a total of 25 days.
