Our client, a well established family run business within the joinery design space, is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to join their small, friendly team based at their offices in Reading. They have a strong reputation for being very professional and easy to work with. Their Finance Director is looking for someone who loves numbers to come and assist him from a Finance Admin capacity, with a view to progressing into Financial Controller

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the timely input of project data (particularly Timesheet records)
  • Support with timely (eventually live) internal project reporting – costs vs budget and forecasting
  • Oversee accounts payable ledger (including subcontractors) and draft timely payment runs
  • Order processing and client invoicing/debt chasing
  • Support with scaling the process’s and systems in the department to support business growth
  • Provide reporting to aid wider-business forecasting (GBS)
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
  • Work closely with senior management to support strategic planning and growth

  • Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • Adept with Excel and experience with accounting software
  • Good communication skills to work across departments and with external partners
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks independently
Benefits
  • 07:30-16:30 Monday- Friday with 30mins for lunch (Can be Flexible on hours)
