The role as an ASD Support Assistant:

  • To support students with their learning in the classroom
  • Assist with bridging any gaps in their development and education
  • Encourage students to achieve their goals - both academic and personal
  • Facilitate a positive environment to help make students learning concrete
  • Assist the class teacher with general support in the classroom - this can be helping prepare lessons, tidy up afterwards, provide general supervision over the classroom

The successful ASD Support Assistant:

  • Will have some experience working with children in a classroom setting
  • Will be patient, proactive and passionate about making a difference
  • Will be calm and positive - be able to easily build relationships with the children
  • Understand the importance of Safeguarding
  • Have a DBS or be willing to obtain one
