A specialist primary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. You will play a key role in supporting pupils' emotional regulation, building their resilience, and helping them engage more positively with learning. - Role: Mental Health Assistant
- Location: Reading
- Salary: 89-100 per day
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm
- Start Date: ASAP
- Ideal for: Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or Education Graduates, or those with a background in youth work, care, or mental health support
Mental Health Assistant Responsibilities:
- Providing 1:1 and small group emotional support to pupils
- Assisting with de-escalation strategies and helping pupils manage anxiety or behaviour
- Supporting classroom activities and helping maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and SEN professionals to deliver personalised support plans
